Worldwide CEO John Tonnison sets out company’s strategy that enables partners to access, power and master cloud services and transform their businesses
Tech Data Europe set out its strategy for leading the way in channel cloud development to key vendors, service providers, resellers and managed services provider partners from all over the continent at its European Cloud Summit in Barcelona last week.
Around 200 delegates heard John Tonnison, Tech Data’s Executive Vice President Cloud Computing and Worldwide Chief Information Officer, deliver the opening plenary alongside Reza Honarmand, Vice President Software and Cloud Europe, who explained how Tech Data is enabling partners to access, power and master cloud services and solutions.
There was also a keynote presentation on partner business transformation by David Ednie, President and CIO, SalesChannel Europe and a renowned authority on the cloud services market. Attendees then attended a series of breakout sessions hosted by Microsoft, IBM, Cisco and HP, as well as Tech Data.
Feedback from the event was extremely positive. Tech Data provides access to a comprehensive portfolio of best-of-breed IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services. Through its StreamOne cloud aggregation portal, services from IBM SoftLayer, Microsoft Azure, VMware vCloud Air, IBM, AirVM, and HP are available. Resellers are able to access, test and provision services for customers and subsequently manage customer usage and provide consolidated monthly billing for both partners and customers. Cloud services can simply be re-sold, made available within the partner’s own website or offered as part of fully independent cloud services platform.
Honarmand added that Tech Data was extremely grateful to all its vendor, service provider, reseller and MSP partners and associates who attended and contributed to the Cloud Summit event. The company is already considering plans for a similar event next year and will be making details of its plans available to partners in due course.
